In the tests I did with hard keyboards, the buttons and key combinations worked-- both with bluetooth and with an "OTG" (on the go) cable that converts microUSB -> standard USB. That said, your mileage may vary. The nice thing is that there is no cost whatsoever to trying DubScript. If you have success (or any issues, for that matter), feel free to report as much here!

I use a bluetooth external keyboard, Euroo brand. Everything works fine
